Insurance Information At Asheville Childrens Medical Center we participate in many managed care
plans and see patients with traditional insurances. See the plans below for reference.
Many plans require that you make a co-payment at the time of the visit. To make
it easier for you, we accept cash, check and most major credit cards at our offices.
We participate with the following plans:
| Blue Cross/ Blue Shield of North Carolina |
Medcost |
| Cigna |
Health Choice |
| Champus Standard (only) |
Humana |
| Medicaid |
Crescent PPO Note: Call for a current list of participating employers. |
| United Health Care |
State (Costwise) |
|
If we are referring you to another doctor for additional care, your particular
plan may require a special authorization. Please check with your booklet or call
your health insurance company, or the human resources office at your place of
employment.
Billing
Payment is expected for your portion of charges at the time of services. Co-payments
may not be billed later and are not discounted. We will prepare and submit a claim
to your insurance company if we participate with them (see insurance information
section for a list).
It is important for you to make the decisions about your childs care, rather
than depending on a disinterested third party. We are pleased to provide this
very important care for your child; however, we will not recode services to facilitate
insurance coverage. We bill only for services that are documented. Please be aware
of our policy and your benefits prior to the service.
We send monthly statements of your account showing the amount billed to your insurance
company and the amount currently due from you. If your insurance company has not
paid within 60 days we ask that you contact your company directly to find out
the status of your claim. Please keep in mind that you are responsible for any
amounts not paid by your insurance company.
For a full financial policy contact our business office or request one when you
are in for your next appointment. | |
