Behavioral Health and Counseling Services offer a wide range of comprehensive services to address the behavioral, psychiatric and psychological needs of children, adolescents and their families.
Outpatient services cover the complete spectrum of child and family problems.
Community-based services include home-based behavioral health care, case management services and prevention, consultation and education in the community.
Laura Anthony discovered Asheville while hiking the Appalachian Train in 1997. She instantly fell in love with the area and moved there from Florida to enjoy Asheville’s beautiful scenery, hiking trails, and wide variety of music and art.
Laura joined ACMC as part of our integrated health project, where she serves as our in-house counselor. She is available to see children of all ages for counseling related to behavioral and emotional issues, as well as working with families regarding parenting issues and other concerns.
Laura obtained her Masters degree in Social Work from UCF-University of Central Florida in 1997. She has worked with children, adolescents and families in a variety of settings including residential treatment and intensive outpatient. She worked for several years as the Director of Mental Health Services for a residential program with the Department of Juvenile Justice in Florida. Since moving to Asheville, NC in 2001 she has worked for Blue Ridge Center, New Vistas, and Horse Sense of the Carolinas, Inc. Laura is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker.
